Campaign Background

Medway NHS Foundation Trust comprises a single-site hospital based in Gillingham, the Medway Maritime Hospital, serving a diverse population of more than 424,000 across Medway and Swale.

The Medway NHS Foundation Trust team is made up of 4,400 highly skilled and dedicated people who provide clinical services to almost half a million patients a year.

The Trust was looking to recruit both Staff and Charge Nurses across a range of specialities including Acute Medicine, Elderly Care, General Surgical Wards, Frailty, Medical Short Stay and Cardiology.

HST was engaged by the Trust to support the direct recruitment of newly qualified and experienced international nurses.

Campaign Overview

HST developed a talent marketing plan that identified Dublin as a potential source market for Nurses and proposed that a bespoke recruitment open day for the Trust would generate the highest ROI.

HST created an employer branded open day for the Trust that included both venue selection and hire as well as a recruitment advertising campaign targeting Nurses in the Irish market.

Advertising the Trust’s event included a blended multi-channel campaign incorporating both traditional and digital advertising, while HST’s event management services included event staff being present at the event on the day to manage the build-up, registrations and break-down.

The campaign resulted in 111 nurses registering to attend the event with 51 meeting the Trust’s hiring needs. A total of 29 nurses were shortlisted for interviews on the day with two candidates opting to be video-interviewed.
