Modern Slavery Statement

HealthSectorTalent® are committed to opposing modern slavery, human trafficking and exploitation in all formats and preventing it where possible in our organisation.

What it is

Modern slavery refers to the offences of human trafficking, slavery, servitude and forced/compulsory labour for personal or commercial gain.

Human trafficking is the action/practice of illegally transporting people from one country or are to another, typically for the purposes of forced labour.

Structure

Due to the nature of our business in that we supply leading healthcare employers with solutions for them to directly recruit doctors, nurses and allied health professionals, we not only help our clients to minimise their supply chain risks, we help them to enforce their own Modern Slavery Policies.

As Company, we ourselves would be considered low risk, however, we still take the topic of modern slavery very seriously and have a zero tolerance policy in regards to our suppliers.

This means we do all the due diligence required before doing business with anyone in our supply chain, which for the most part is limited as we specialise in direct sourcing rather than relying on third party providers.

Guidelines

We have a number of ways to ensure that our policy against modern slavery and human trafficking remains part of the Company’s core values and expect our staff, customers and suppliers to follow these values as well.

To prevent opportunities for modern slavery we actively look to do the following:

  • to be transparent in our business activities throughout the supply chain.

  • to seek transparency from our suppliers, clients, staff and contractors

  • for all staff are aware of their obligations to help prevent and identify modern slavery. This means they have an obligation to carry out business in a way as to eradicate any opportunity of modern slavery

Policy

  1. HealthSectorTalent® are committed to eliminating modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and similar human rights abuses within our industry and ensure that there is no involvement in these acts from anyone in our supply chain.

  2. HealthSectorTalent® are committed to ensuring that its staff and any workers it supplies are not subject to behaviour or threats that may amount to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and similar human rights abuses.

  3. HealthSectorTalent® provides appropriate training and awareness information for all of its staff. This is addressed in their induction also.

  4. Any staff, workers or other parties are strongly encouraged to report any concerns or suspicions that they might have to their line manager.

  5. Reports surrounding these issues are taken extremely seriously by our Directors who are committed to ensuring that all investigations shall be prompt and effective. If our investigations reveal any issues, we are committed to taking appropriate action, including but not limited to:

      • Working with the appropriate organisations to improve standards,

      • Removing that organisation from our preferred supplier list,

      • Passing details to appropriate law enforcement bodies.

  6. We regularly do risk assessments in this area to ensure our business and its supply chains are to the standards of the act. We do so by identifying and assess potential risk areas when taking on new suppliers, review potential risks regularly throughout the year and by protecting whistle-blowers.

As part of our efforts in this area, we publish a modern slavery statement on an annual basis.

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes HealthSectorTalent® slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31/12/20.
